Chapter Meeting: 15-40 Connection
Our speaker was an extraordinary woman named Maryellen Brisbois. She is a breast cancer survivor, mother of three, and the
author of "Why I Hated Pink." It's probably not shocking that cancer
takes the lives of more 15-40 year-olds than any other disease. But
the fact that improvements in cancer survival rates for 15-40
year-olds have remained near 0% since 1975 is. The 15-40 Connection
was founded to promote cancer awareness and to provide teens, young
adults (and others) with the life-saving advantage of early
detection. |

Chapter Meeting: Lessons from the Lunchbox
Kelly Kurtz from Sport Nutrition for Kids helped us take a closer look at what our kids are eating today.
Current research is showing the damaging effects of our everyday food that is contributing to the development of chronic
degenerative diseases at an early age!
We learned how what your child eats can directly effect their ability to focus and concentrate in school and everyday tasks.

Chapter Meeting:
Back-to-school
It's September and the kids are back in school. And that means there
is so much to do, so many decisions to make, and so much to keep
track of... HELP!!!
We held an informal chat-in-the-hat discussion about those
"back-to-school" issues, problems and logistics. We shared ideas and learned
from each
other as we socialized, sipped some coffee or tea, and relaxed with
friends. Hopefully you left with some helpful information and
the knowledge that you're not in this alone. |

Chapter Open House &
Silent Auction
Thank you to those who joined us for our chapter's annual Open House -- a night full
of fun and friendship.
This year we held our first silent auction. There were
a variety of items to bid on, for example -- a mini-photo session
(30 minutes) with a CD of images, a fun scrap booking kit, and a
bread baking lesson -- to name just a few.
And of course, there was lots of yummy food and drink, fun
mingling, and door prizes. |
