Bullying Book Recommendations

This first group of books had the best info in the most accessible format. The age recommendations are mine as well.

bulletThe Bully Blockers Club by Teresa Bateman ages 3+
bulletMy Secret Bully by Trudy Ludwig ages 6+
bulletNobody Knew What to Do by Becky Ray McCain ages 6+
bulletIt’s Your Choice Bully by Janine Amos ages 8+ (non-fiction)
bulletDealing with Bullying by Marianne Johnston ages 4+ (non-fiction)

The next group deals with being different, they do not address bullying directly, but the idea that we tend to feel uncomfortable with those that are not like us.

bulletTough Eddie by Elizabeth Winthrop ages 3+
bulletOdd Velvet by Mary E. Whitcomb ages 3+

The next grouping were reviewed, but have some mixed messages such as it is okay to fight or that you should try and become friends with your bully.

bulletThe Meanest Thing to Say by Bill Cosby ages 6+
bulletThe Berenstain Bears and the Bully by Stan & Jan Berenstain ages 6+

There are many more out there! I recommend doing a search at your local library, but previewing the content before reading with your child to make sure that what you are explaining is helpful.
